Welcome to the Temple Ahavat Shalom Early Childhood Education Center. Our program meets the needs of families desiring a warm, nurturing preschool experience for their children in a happy, fun-filled and safe environment.
Philosophy & Curriculum
The early years of a child’s life are the most important for growth and development. In recognition of how crucial these early years are to later learning, our program integrates current research in early childhood theories, and developmentally appropriate practices. In each age group we use active hands-on learning to promote cognitive, social, language, emotional, physical, and creative development. Our children are also provided with a rich Judaic environment in which they can experience and learn Jewish rituals and customs, and the joy that these celebrations bring.
Our developmentally academic curriculum promotes independent learning, stimulates creativity, builds self-esteem, and develops problem solving skills. Each child’s uniqueness is embraced and respected to ensure a positive learning experience. Activities and experiences are appropriately planned for the individual child, as well as, the group in a setting of well equipped classrooms and outdoor spaces that support exploration and discovery. As a result of our program students become successful members of a learning community.
Through the use of holiday based and thematic units children are actively engaged in the following subjects:
- Perceptional & Organizational Skills
- Music & Movement
- Social Living
- Physical Education
