TAS and CSUN Jewish Studies present the first in a year-long film series: "As Seen Through These Eyes" - Free screening followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Hilary Helstein This vividly and beautifully illustrated documentary juxtaposes historic newsreel footage of Nazi Europe with the drawings, paintings, plays, as well as interviews of artists who documented the genocide that they survived. Narrated by American poet laureate Maya Angelou, it offers a very different perspective on the rise of Hitler and showcases perspectives not typically heard. Suitable for teenagers and adults. 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 22 (90 minute runtime) Fallbrook Laemmle Theater 6731 Fallbrook Ave., West Hills, 91307 Open seating is still available, but make your reservation now! This would make a great Havurah activity! For reservations, contact the Jewish Studies Program at jewish.studies@csun.edu or (818) 677-4724 to RSVP. In your RSVP request, please indicate you are a member of Temple Ahavat Shalom. This program is sponsored by the TAS Judaism Beyond our Boundaries committee. |
