Rabbi Shawna Brynjegard-Bialik is a familiar face to many of us at TAS, as she has already been active in our congregation as both a rabbi and a congregant. In fact, she was both consecrated and confirmed here (you can find her 1977 consecration photo in the school office).
Rabbi Shawna was ordained by Hebrew Union College in 2002 and has since been helping at TAS wherever she was needed. This year Rabbi Shawna led Tuesday Torah study, taught Adult Education classes, coordinated our efforts to install a solar ner tamid, and organized our “Blessing of the Sun” event in April, 2009.
She and her husband Isaac have three daughters in our religious school, and she has written about her experience with the ECEC Tot Shabbat for an upcoming book. This summer is her third as faculty at URJ Camp Newman-Swig. She is looking forward to teaching confirmation students, continuing her work with Synaplex and other programs, and working more closely with TAS families.
