Hear about fighting hunger and poverty in the community with SOVA, a non-sectarian program of Jewish Family Services of Los Angeles. Guest speaker: Maxine Myers, SOVA Resource Development Specialist.

You provide the dish we’ll provide the beverage and dessert!
Share your favorite dish (enough to feed 4-6 people) with your fellow congregants and make an (optional) donation to MEND (A Poverty-Fighting Non-Profit)

Tour MEND (Meet Each Need With Dignity) and learn about this organization dedicated to helping the poverty-stricken in our midst.

1. Head northeast on Rinaldi Place toward Chimineas Ave.
2. Take the 1st left onto Chimineas Ave.
3. Turn right at Rinaldi Street
4. Turn right at Balboa Blvd.
5. Turn right to merge onto CA-118 East
6. Take the San Fernando Road exit toward San Fernando
7. Turn right at San Fernando Road
8. Turn right at Pierce Street.
9. Arrive at Destination 10641 San Fernando Road, Pacoima, CA 91331

Supermarket Tzedakah Challenge
Saturday, 4:15 pm, at the Albertson’s on the northwest corner of Devonshire and Reseda (See Map Below)
Can you feed a family of four for a day with only $10 from your pocket? We’ll go to the grocery store and find out! All groceries will be donated to SOVA. An explanation of what kinds of foods to look for will be given to all participants just outside the market. For those of you who would like to hear Maxine Myers from SOVA speak before heading out to the market, please come to TAS first at 3:30 pm. At the end of the market challenge return to TAS to weigh your groceries and help our SOVA chart grow!

Having a busy Saturday? – meet us at Albertsons anytime between 4 and 5 pm to shop with TAS for groceries and take the challenge.
